Having outdoor cats can be...interesting. They show up with little surprises (aka dead mice) and leave for hours on end, making you worry about their safety. Then there's the issue with your garden -- while they might not dig like dogs, they will have boxing matches with delicate flowers, take naps in the greenery, and if you're super (un)lucky, they might do what this guy's did: poop in the planter.
When he'd finally had enough, he did this:
First, he cleared out all the poop and plants.
He bought some sand...which you'd think would just make cats even more excited.
After emptying it out...
He leveled everything.
And laid a fresh batch of bricks out!
He applied some sand sealer...
And wet it down to set the bricks.
And in the end, their planter became a patio!

Take that, cats! This is the perfect little porch for an evening cocktail -- no poop, please.
